La oposición venezolana venía de un largo viaje de regreso. Desde el 2015 -dada la epidemia abstencionista que comenzó a incubar bajo la dirección del llamado G-4 – no enfrentaba con seriedad un evento electoral. El 2018 esa oposición regaló el gobierno a Maduro. Ningún pretexto pudo ocultar lo que las primarias de 2023 revelaron: que esa oposición no tenía candidato porque nunca llegó a alcanza r un mínimo a cuerdo para tener uno . Dominada por sus sectores más extremistas, fue forzada a participar en un proceso insurreccional que no tenía ni sabía como enfrentar. El año 2019, cuando masas enfervorizadas se juramentaron ante Guaidó en su calidad de presidente de la AN asumiendo un tropical interinato que desconocía la legalidad de Maduro, y poniendo un extraño “fin de la usurpación” como primera meta, profundizaría aún más el desmembramiento de partidos que lo único que sabían hacer -y lo habían hecho bien– era participar en elecciones.
